Virtual Trainer Certification I

Virtual Trainer Certification I is designed for both in-house and field-based trainers. It is ideal for newly promoted trainers, experienced trainers who want a refresher in fundamentals, training managers who have never led a training team, or sales managers who engage in training. The course introduces basic adult learning principles, as well as principles for effectively coaching knowledge and skills. Participants learn to:

  • Plan, conduct, evaluate, and follow up productive learning
  • Create effective, measurable performance objectives that meet the learners’ needs
  • Facilitate interactive and self-directed learning
  • Deliver evidence-based feedback that supports development
  • Develop competency-based curricula to meet their organization’s needs

Virtual Trainer Certification II

Virtual Trainer Certification II is appropriate for experienced trainers, training managers or directors, and anyone tasked with creating learning solutions. Both in-house and field-based trainers and training managers can expect to benefit from the content. The course builds on Trainer Certification I; however, the first course is not a mandatory prerequisite. The course takes a deeper dive into good instructional design, as well as techniques for partnering with stakeholders and measuring ROI. Participants learn to:

  • Incorporate adult learning principles in delivering training
  • Design instructional programs to meet adult learners’ needs and expectations
  • Implement effective and productive measurement of the results of learning

Trainer Master Classes

Romar's Trainer Master Class series provides advanced trainer certification for experienced trainers. These classes are intended for people who have completed our Trainer Certification I and II programs and want further professional development. They provide extended development in subjects to help learning and development professionals continue to grow and reach their full potential. Topics include:

  • Applying advanced adult learning concepts and theory
  • Building interactivity into learning
  • Training experienced learners
  • Managing internal stakeholders
  • Conducting effective ROI analyses

Field Trainer Certification

Field Trainer Certification introduces field-based trainers to adult learning principles and provides guidance on how to set objectives, facilitate learning skills, and use good feedback and modeling techniques in onboarding new hires. Participants learn to:

  • Plan, conduct, evaluate, and follow up productive learning
  • Facilitate interactive, self-directed, and virtual learning
  • Facilitate live workshops to transfer skills, knowledge, and/or behavior.
  • Assist managers in onboarding new hires

Virtual Facilitation

Participants can’t always attend live workshops. As a result, trainers must sometimes conduct virtual training, such as webinars or conference calls, to meet training needs. Our approach explores ways to effectively deliver virtual training sessions interactively. First, it examines how to plan a good virtual session. Next, trainers learn how to conduct a session with special emphasis on creating engagement and applying good adult learning principles from a distance. The final section explores techniques to sustain the learning from a virtual session. Participants learn to:

  • Plan quality virtual sessions that apply adult learning principles
  • Create and encourage participant engagement
  • Analyze participation
  • Summarize key learning and have the learner create an action plan
