Many organizations have created competency models to find they have little practical use within the organization or they are hard to implement. Other organizations have created capabilities—specific tasks a job requires—which have great practical use but fail to establish a common language and can result in a large list of difficult-to-support capabilities. This round table will explore the two approaches and how to build competency and capability models the organization can support that can have practical application to the employees.

Romar’s monthly leadership round tables discuss mission-critical topics in leadership and management development. These virtual conversations are free and open to anyone with an interest or stake in developing leaders.
